Our Story

Northway Transmissions is a family owned and operated local business based in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

Bill and Debbie Taggart started Northway Transmissions with the purpose of being trusted advisors in the automotive industry. The business has since been passed on to their two sons, Brian and Kevin. Brian takes care of day to day office operations. Kevin runs the shop making sure each job is performed properly and to the highest quality.

The Taggarts, along with the rest of the Northway Transmission team, combine to bring over 30 years of quality automotive experience.

Services We Provide

Not Just A Transmission Shop

We do specialize in transmission and driveline repair, but we offer most other services along with custom work. Having a specialty in a complex part of the automotive repair industry also means that the day to day repairs are no big deal for us to handle as well. We can do all repairs to the brake, steering, suspension, exhaust, cooling, heating, electrical and many more systems. We also offer custom work and after market upgrades focusing mostly with the LS engine but not limited to it. We also do vintage and antique vehicle repair ranging from a car that was just pulled out of a barn and hasn't ran in 30 years, to a show ready car that just needs basic maintenance. We encourage you to check out our Featured Repair section above to see some of our past work.
